Top 6 Essentials For Travel Days

Posted by HeyCarson on

Temps are dropping, airline prices are up, and the looming desire to be next to a warm fire holding a hot, peppermint-flavored liquid is ever-so present...

We don’t know about you, but it sounds like holiday season is upon us. And in the same way that a solid capsule wardrobe can elevate and expedite your outfit selection process, being prepped and ready with the right travel essentials can be the difference between a smooth, comfortable travel experience and a sloppy one.

That being said, we’ve put together a list of our top six recommended essentials for a stylish, dapper, and practical travel day.

1. A leather travel wallet

When it comes to traveling smart and in style, going for maximum quality and functionality is key. A premium-quality travel wallet that is reliable, durable and allows for easy and practical storage of your necessities (credit cards, license, cash, passport) will ensure a smoother, stress-free travel experience.

2. Headphones

If we’re being honest, headphones have evolved into a serious style statement. But that doesn’t mean they don’t also make our lives easier. A good pair of noise-cancelling headphones can not only add some flare to your outfit, but they can help you focus on whatever task helps you get through your flight, whether it’s finishing up a work project or trying to catch some z’s.

3. A versatile pair of sunglasses

Chances are pretty high that you won’t need these bad boys on your actual flight, but having a decent pair of sunnies with you on travel days has a couple of benefits. For one, you may need a pair to block out the sun (or, better yet, to cover up your dark under-eye circles) during the time before you hop on the flight or for when you land at your destination. Even if you end up not using them, hooking a sleek pair of sunglasses to the collar of your shirt (similarly to headphones) adds an extra style element to your look. Lastly, storing sunglasses in your luggage is risky business. Having them on your person is a pretty solid way of keeping your eye on them and making sure they don’t get smashed by the less-than-gentle airport staff.

4. A staple pair of sneaks

Arguably, one of the best things about streetwear is the shoes. They’re more often than not very comfortable, versatile, and cool to look at. You really can’t go wrong with a pair of classic Vans, Converse, or Nike AF1s.

5. A Jack(et) of all trades

Most experienced travelers know that having a jacket for travel days is an absolute must. Even if the place you’re going is warm, planes are notorious for going a little crazy with the AC. Plus, wearing a jacket rather than packing it can end up saving you some valuable luggage space.

6. Mini roll-on cologne

Is smelling good on a plane going to make the turbulence go away? Nah. But we strongly believe in the power of the little things. A touch of cologne can boost your confidence and put you more at-ease (simply by knowing that you won’t need to stress that your travel sweat is creeping out your seat neighbor). We get that space for liquids is limited in your carry-on, however, so we recommend investing in a mini roll-on cologne rather than the traditional spray bottle.

Happy traveling!
